We're Supposed To Encourage Them To Talk?

Because I'm all the time telling Violet to pipe down, mama can't hear her stories on the tube. So yeah, apparently as parents we're supposed to encourage our children to talk and not shush them all the time like I've been doing.

If you're an anal parent who likes to know what the ubiquitous "they" have to say about how much your toddler should be talking, click on over to this here thing I wrote for Babble. It's called 25 Words Your Toddler Should Be Using By Age 2. It's also got some pretty cute photos of my talkative toddlers. Again though, if your kid is what "they" call a late talker, no worries! I happen to think you're kind of lucky.
