City Of Dreams

Editing has always been a major part of the news industry. I've known how to edit for quite some time. What with editing video featuring fires, traffic accidents and dead people, I never really took a shine to the task.

Recently I've been exploring editing software and man, I am in love. I'll start editing some video I've taken, I look up what seems like minutes later and four hours have flown by. So you'll have to excuse me for posting this latest barrage of videos. I won't do it all the time. Maybe every Saturday. Yeah.. Something like that. And hopefully they'll get better.

Yesterday I worked on this video I made with one of The Surge's songs off his recent album. The song City of Dreams has always felt personal to me. I heard it right after I moved to NYC and I remember exploring the storied streets of Manhattan singing City of Dreams to myself. Check it out..

Wow thanks for that. Because City of Dreams and Poor People have been in my head for like three days. So, awesome.

Wonderful! I'd love to be able to make videos like that from clips and photos, but it takes more artistic talent than I possess. The sepia toned one you posted a couple of days ago was beautiful.

Those #'s are from 4 moves ago....the lucky person living there may enjoy some new friends.
People will look at the lovely state of Utah in a whole different light once they see what we got away with on a daily basis!
By the way...does NYC make your body look like the one in your picture above the links....cause I'm booking a flight.
Serious. Redonkulous!
Anyway, I say post away!

I know what you mean about the editing - I was cutting and pasting vacation video from a year ago last night, and what I thought was 20-30 minutes was a solid 2 hours.

Of course, I suck at it, so maybe I just should have spent the 20-30 minutes!

Nice video :)

Wow. I'm seconding what Cass said. All the videos you've been posting do make a lot of sense now that I remember what field your career has been in. Your love for music and your own creativitiy, combined with the experience from your job and obviously our own passion for editing all really shone through.

And, just how did you manage to get yourself to appear like one of the stars of the silent films of the 1920s? Amazing.

I loved watching it, and, I don't know any Marah, but I lOVED that song as well. Great job!

That was such a good video. I dont know how you put these things together so quickly on your website. It seems like it would require allot of formal training. It would take me forever.

The last video cleared things up for me. I thought "Sarge" was "Surge'.I got em mixed up. I like your husbands look too. I'm not a gay - I'm just saying -he looks cool. I

Funny... my town is so different, but so similar. I've never been to New York. I've spent most of my life in the southwest United States. We're all just dreaming.
