I thought that was cool too.. in juxtaposition with the Empire State Building and all..

Hey! How did your gig go?

Every time I vist NYC, I get a metro card. No matter what is left on it before I leave NYC, I keep it for however long. LOL

I have a NYC subway Metro card right now on my dresser from August, it will probably stay there for another 6 months at least. I am a sucker for...oh what is the word I'm looking for.....nostalgia...no that's notquite it....but let's just say memories for now. :)

monica,

bellingham gig was a blast. i'm not positive the guys liked bellingham (i'm pretty sure dave had some particular problems), but i really dug hanging with them. they played great (of course), maybe a little less enthused than the previous night in vancouver, but great nonetheless. i got called on stage to help out with "on the road again" at the end of the show. serge traded me a hat for a cd, so hopefully he'll fall in love with it and my presence will be requested at all future marah shows. or something.

Aw, I loved these. The pictures at sundown in TSquare were especially nostalgic for me... reminded me of walking home after work, marvelling at the buildings and lights and getting all choked up because I CAN'T BELIEVE I LIVE HERE.
I miss that. I need to visit soon, but then again, it's never the same.

Thanks for the photos!

days off in the middle of the week are the best. I was always amazed at the # of people who were also out and about like myself. From the pics, looks like you covered a lot of ground!

Some of those pics looked like postcards! Very beautiful! Have you seen the building that says "Read the Bible daily." It is on a building as you cross the Brooklyn bridge!
I have been to NYC once. I was in Times Square and their was a pic of Antonio Sebato, Jr. in his Calvin Klein's, and I HAD to take a pic, and everyone said no b/c I would look too touristy, but I did it anyway! :)

Thanks for all the comments guys. It's so fantastic to take photos and get immediate feedback from you all!

Methinks I'm headin' out to Coney Island soon. I imagine it will be eerily beautiful in the heart of winter.

You are getting better as a photographer. These are beautiful in that they capture the varied essence of the city on any day of the week. Well done.

If the writing doesn't pan out you may have a career in photography :)

I love the photos, esp. the 'fly on the wall' shots in the subway. Funny how they don't seem to notice you.
Coney Island is nice and quiet this time of year. It's a good time to visit the NY aquarium b/c it's rarely crowded. If you go on a Sunday, you can shoot some photos of the polar bear club swimmers. (I think they swim all winter.)

Brian came to play! Actually, after I took that skater guy's picture I called him over so he could see some of the shots.. I thought he'd be interested because some of 'em turned out pretty cool.. He was a total prick. Acted all supercilious, like I was hitting on him.. using my camera as an excuse to talk to him. Ass. Can't stand pretty boy hipster dicks. That's when I hopped the 1 train uptown..
